As a child Taehyun used to star in commercials including ones for an English tutor company, which is why he speaks English well.

Three years old and breaking records with every move they make, the Korean boy band BTS is one of the peninsula’s rising acts. Without any English singles, they’ve managed to become the highest-ranked Korean act on the Billboard 200and even topped the Social 50 chart.

1. BTS stands for Bangtan Sonyeondan, which means “Bulletproof Boy Scouts”
At the time of their release, the group’s name surprised fans with how cheesy it sounded, thanks to its Cub Scout-inducing name. Luckily, the group picked BTS as their English-language tag, saving face for English-speaking fans.
2. There Are Seven Members
Five is the typical amount of members for American boy bands, but Korea has gone all the way up to double digits, so seven is pretty tame. BTS consists of rappers Rap Monster, Suga and J-Hope and vocalists Jin, Jimin, V and Jungkook. Out of the septet, only Jimin and Jungkook don’t go by their stage names.

Monsta X is a group under STARSHIP Entertainment which debuted in 2015, previously formed from a variety survival show titled “No Mercy”. No Mercy is a survival show under STARSHIP Entertainment with seniors from STARSHIP who host the show, such as K.Will, Mad Clown, Soyou, Hyolyn, and others. No Mercy featured thirteen trainees from STARSHIP, and in the end the boy band was formed with seven members. Before this, a younger member of Monsta X, I.M, did not participate from the beginning and it was only during the mid-episode he was confirmed to join No Mercy. The company, which is well known for their international superstars BTS, began to reveal their new group on January 10, 2019 with an introduction video for Yeonjun. And slowly revealed the remaining TXT members (Soobin, Beomgyu, Taehyun, and Huening Kai) over the next 10 days.
Big Hit has been keeping a lot of information about the group, and what their music will be like, under tight wraps. Profile: Soobin was the second member of TXT to be introduced, and is also the second oldest TXT member. Big Hit also confirmed that Soobin is the leader of TOMORROW X TOGETHER which means there will be a lot of responsibility placed on his shoulders. He’s also described as having a lot of charm.
Soobin has also revealed that he has an older sister and an older brother. His family also owns a long-haired chihuahua named Sean.
Soobin described himself as one who enjoys to eat a lot and hates dieting. Interestingly, he also named BTS member Jin as someone he loves so perhaps they share their love of food with each other.
The other members describe him as being deeply caring and kind which makes him the perfect leader. He’s also a homebody who loves snowy days. Soobin also has a habit of winking randomly which the other members find funny.
TXT’s leader seems to pay special attention to fans comments and says that reading what fans have left for them makes him smile. Soobin is also described as a warm member that everyone can easily approach and the other members find comfort in being around him. Soobin revealed that when he auditioned for Big Hit he was so nervous that his microphone was trembling and that he got the lyrics all wrong. So that day he went home and bought himself five ice creams to feel better.

Profile: Yeonjun was the very first member of TXT to be announced by Big Hit, and is also the oldest member of the group. He’s described as having “outstanding dancing skills” and had also auditioned for Cube Entertainment prior to joining Big Hit.
He’s the only member of TXT that is an only child. And he also used to live in the United States during elementary school which is why he’s fluent in English.
Prior to debuting, Yeonjun starred in a Ramyeon commercial and also acted as a backup dancer for BTS. Yeonjun has been fun to watch on social media so far, and is already getting a reputation for writing in jokes/puns. He often writes about the cold weather, his excitement for debut, and how hard they’ve been practicing!
The dancer has also revealed that he love hip hop music and was always number one in dance, singing, and rapping in their monthly evaluations during their trainee days. He’s also joked that the members once thought he was really cool but now they only think he’s cute.
Beomgyu teased in a diary that Yeonjun has been studying up on puns, and how cute it is. The other members have also said that he’s sentimental and even cried once while reading a poem.
Yeonjun also revealed that he was the longest trainee with Big Hit out of the group, having been there for 4 years before their debut!

Profile: Beomgyu was the fifth member of TXT to be revealed. At the age of 17 he’s right in the middle of the group between the two older members (Yeonjun and Soobin) and the two younger members (Huening Kai and Taehyun). He’s said to bring a “bright and energetic appearance” to the group.
He has two older brothers and is the owner of a parrot name “TOTO.” Beomgyu is from Daegu, much like his record-mates BTS members Kim Taehyung (V) and Min Yoongi (Suga). He can also play the guitar and used that talent to get through his audition for Big Hit.
Beomgyu has stated that he can easily make friends because he enjoys feeling love and affection. He’s also one who likes to joke around and be mischievous, especially when the other members are recording videos. The others said that he can be very talkative but also has a bright personality and sends positive vibes to everyone.
Beomgyu has a fondness for posting silent videos on the groups twitter account, and has this little habit of shaking his hands violently so that his whole phone moves while he’s recording which makes it super endearing. One of his videos also revealed that he and Taehyun are attending the same school together.
Interestingly, Beomgyu was also the only member to write his name in English on their first posts which revealed drawings they’d each done. This could indicate that he’s already been studying English and could be fluent. He’s said that he enjoys playing basketball in his free time.
He also revealed his regrets about not being able to show more of their skills in a diary post on their website saying, “I am very sorry that there is nothing that I can show other than [my] face to fans right now but I want to show a wonderful and powerful stage as a gift of reward for the fans who expect us and wait for us by practicing hard until the day of debut!”
Beomgyu was a Big Hit trainee for the shortest period of time, having been with the company for two years before the group debuted. He also said that whenever he comes across a member of BTS at Big Hit he gets too nervous to say anything and his heart trembles.

As a child Taehyun used to star in commercials including ones for an English tutor company, which is why he speaks English well.
From what we’ve seen so far, Taehyun appears to have a calmer energy than some of the other boys in the group. Much like the groups leader Soobin, he’s more laid back. Taehyun was described as the brain of the group by his members. As well as being very mature, logical, and full of passion.
He’s also said that he was once a picky eater but eats really well these days, except for spicy food. Though the way the other members eat sometimes makes him feel like he eats less than they do.

Profile: Huening Kai was the third member of TXT to be revealed by Big Hit and is also the groups maknae (youngest member)! It appears that he comes from a very musical family and has two sisters.
As the baby of the group it doesn’t come as surprise that he’s said to bring a “refreshing and innocent appeal” to the group. As a Korean-American, he’s also Big Hit’s first international artist ever!
He’s revealed that his mother is Korean and his father is American. His family later moved to China where his father became a singer there. Eventually, Huening Kai moved to Korea with his mother where he decided to pursue music. He’s fluent in both English and Korean.
Huening Kai’s is already making a good impression as the group’s maknae and acting like an adorable little child on their social media. He might also be the meme king of the group, with fans using his videos to have fun. His debut diary also teased how hard they’ve been working saying, “We keep choreographing together with the members.”
Huening Kai has also revealed that he’s able to play several instruments and learns them easily, including piano, guitar, and drums. His weakness is a lack of flexibility and says that he has wooden legs.
